Mainstream Aquaculture founded
2003
Pristine geothermal water source discovered
2004
Mainstream’s original facility was constructed and commissioned.
The first batch of Barramundi was sold into the domestic live fish market.
2005
Mainstream operating at full capacity.
Production techniques developed for both Murray Cod and Golden Perch as alternative aquaculture species.
2006
Mainstream celebrates 5 years
2007
Queensland hatchery developed to produce over 5 million fingerlings a year
Mainstream quadruples in size
2008
First sale into domestic chilled distribution channel
Mainstream Aquaculture wins Wyndham City Business of the Year award
2009
Mainstream starts work on a strain of Golden Barramundi.
2010
Collaboration with James Cook University, Queensland.

Mainstream marks its 10 year anniversary with record sales volumes and production
The first trial of Smoked Barramundi products took place

Prime Minister announces federal funding for Mainstream
