Our Production Systems
Recirculating aquaculture systems, or RAS, are often touted as the way of the future because of their sustainability credentials, resource efficiency and high levels of operator control.
RAS do not interact with the natural environment and produce a concentrated nutrient rich waste stream that can be utilised as an input resource for fertiliser production or hydroponics.
A Recirculating Aquaculture System
Pond systems are a common method of rearing both fish and prawns across the world. Typically, water is diverted from a natural water source, through the farm, before being discharged.
Within Australia, there are very strict policies in place to ensure that the water leaving aquaculture farms is as clean, or cleaner than the water entering. This ensures that there is little to no environmental disruption.
